The semifinals are set in Geneva. Top seed Alexander Zverev is in action as he looks to find form before the second Major of the year gets underway in Paris. Who will win and advance to Saturday’s final? Let’s take a look at both of Friday’s matches.

ATP Geneva Semifinal Predictions

Radu Albot vs Nicolas Jarry

H2H- First Meeting
Nicolas Jarry took advantage of his draw, defeating Taro Daniel today in straight sets after Daniel took out Chilean Christian Garin. Jarry seems to be playing well this week, coming into the semifinals without dropping a set. He’ll face a tough opponent in Radu Albot, who continues to build off the best season in his career with a 23-10 record right now.

This first semifinal is an interesting contrast in styles as 6’6″ Jarry isn’t afraid to play aggressive, while Albot likes to play more defensive tennis. Jarry seems to be playing a little better this week and looks destined to reach his first final of the season.
Prediction: Jarry in 2

Alexander Zverev vs Federico Delbonis

H2H- First Meeting
Alexander Zverev entered the Geneva Open looking to get more match play after a disappointing last few weeks on clay. He didn’t look great in his three-set win over Hugo Dellien, but he seems to be competing well, which is important especially with the French Open just days away. He’ll definitely have a chance to improve his form before Roland Garros. His performance at Slams has never quite been up to his talent level.

Federico Delbonis is coming into the semifinals arguably playing the best out of the four remaining players. After losing the first set to Grigor Dimitrov in his opening round, he’s played great. I would give him a slight edge against Zverev to advance to the final. Delbonis also has far lower French Open expectations than Zverev, which means he has far more to gain at this ATP 250.
Prediction: Delbonis in 3
